Veteran Telugu actor Pavala Shyamala has died at the age of 75 while undergoing treatment at Osmania General Hospital in Hyderabad, says Hindustan Times.
She suffered a cardiac arrest in the early hours of July 28 after battling severe health issues.
A spokesperson confirmed that Shyamala passed away at 1:52am on Tuesday after suffering a massive heart attack.
Her mortal remains have been kept at the hospital mortuary, while details about her last rites are yet to be announced.
Shyamala’s death comes weeks after she faced a difficult situation when she was found on the streets after a hospital allegedly turned her away due to a lack of funds.
The actor, who worked as a supporting artist in the Telugu film industry for more than three decades, struggled with financial difficulties in her final years.
Along with her own age-related health problems, she was also caring for her daughter, who has health issues.
In May, Shyamala reportedly sought treatment at a hospital but was unable to continue due to financial constraints.
Reports said she was sent back in a taxi, and the driver left her at a junction late at night.
Locals noticed her condition and informed the police, who later moved her to RK Foundation.
Producer and Film Development Corporation chairman Dil Raju and his team stepped in after learning about her situation.
They consulted doctors and helped arrange medical care for the veteran actor.
This was not the first time Shyamala faced such hardships.
In December 2025, reports claimed that she and her daughter had to leave their accommodation and were later rescued by police before being moved to a charitable home.
In 2021, filmmakers Raj Nidimoru and Krishna DK, popularly known as Raj & DK, appealed to fans for support after learning about Shyamala’s struggles.
Several actors, including Sai Durgha Tej, Chiranjeevi, Pawan Kalyan and Allu Arjun, also extended support to her over the years.
Known for her memorable character roles in Telugu cinema, Pavala Shyamala remained a respected presence in the industry despite facing severe challenges away from the spotlight.
