Sardar Ayaz Sadiq, speaker of Pakistan’s National Assembly, on Wednesday paid a courtesy call on Chief Adviser Muhammad Yunus at the State Guest House Jamuna, according to the Chief Adviser’s Press Wing.
Earlier, the Pakistani Speaker Sadiq conveyed Islamabad’s official condolence message to BNP acting chairperson Tarique Rahman on the death of three-time former prime minister and BNP Chairperson Khaleda Zia, underscoring Pakistan’s deep respect for Bangladesh’s late and steadfast political leader.
Sadiq met Tarique Rahman at the National Parliament Complex, where he formally handed over the condolence message ahead of Khaleda Zia’s funeral prayer, held on the Manik Mia Avenue in the afternoon.
The Speaker of Pakistan’s National Assembly arrived in Dhaka earlier in the day to attend the funeral of the former prime minister and BNP chairperson, representing the government of Pakistan.

He was received at Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport by Pakistan High Commissioner to Bangladesh Imran Haider, along with senior officials of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
