For the first time in Bangladesh, the international examination board OxfordAQA has organised a teacher training programme for IGCSE/O-Level mathematics educators.
The two-day event, held at the Hotel Sarina in the capital, saw participation from more than 100 teachers from English medium schools across the country.
Sessions on teaching strategies, assessment methods, and classroom activities for GCSE Mathematics were conducted by Alan Walton, an international trainer and Chief Examiner for OxfordAQA.
The programme was inaugurated by OxfordAQA’s Country Director for Bangladesh and Nepal, Shahin Reza, and Chief Examiner Alan Walton.
“Bangladesh is an important country for OxfordAQA. We are committed to ensuring student success through teacher training and support,” said Shahin Reza. He added that OxfordAQA plans to organise more training programmes on various subjects in the future.
OxfordAQA is an examination board formed through a partnership between Oxford University Press (a department of the University of Oxford) and AQA, the largest GCSE and A-Level examination board in the United Kingdom.
