Basundhara Kings strengthened their position at the top of the Bangladesh Football League with an emphatic 5–0 victory, remaining the only unbeaten team after four rounds.
Emanuel Sunday set the tone for the home side by opening the scoring against Rahmatganj Muslim Friends and Society, and the five-time league champions continued to dominate throughout the match.
At Basundhara Kings Arena, Rahmatganj came close to an early breakthrough in the sixth minute, but Rakib Hossain’s powerful effort was expertly saved by goalkeeper Alif Mamun.
Kings eventually broke the deadlock in the 27th minute when Emanuel Sunday struck a long-range shot into the far post. Before half-time, Faisal Ahmed Fahim doubled the lead with a perfectly timed volley from a Sunday cross.
The second half saw Basundhara Kings add three more goals: Tapu Barman converted a header from a corner in the 72nd minute, Emanuel Agbaji finished a pass from Cuba Mitchell two minutes later, and Dorielton Gomez Nascimento completed the scoring in the 78th minute with a header from Rakib Hossain’s cross.
Following four rounds, Basundhara Kings top the league table with 10 points from three wins and one draw. They are followed by Brothers Union, Fortis FC, and Rahmatganj on seven points. PWDC and Police FC have five points each, while traditional giants Abahani and Mohammedan have four points, placing Abahani seventh and Mohammedan ninth on goal difference.
