More than 37,000 Bangladeshi pilgrims have returned home after performing the holy Hajj, with many expressing satisfaction over the management by both the Saudi government and Bangladesh’s official arrangements, according to a press release issued on Sunday.
As of Saturday, a total of 37,435 pilgrims had arrived back in the country. Another 3,646 are scheduled to return later Sunday across nine flights, meaning over half of all Bangladeshi pilgrims will have reached home by the end of the day.
The remaining pilgrims will return gradually as per flight schedules, with the entire return process set to conclude on 1 July.
After arriving at Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport, many pilgrims spoke to the media, sharing their experiences and emotions about performing Hajj this year.
In their immediate reactions published across various media outlets, pilgrims enthusiastically praised the overall Hajj management provided by the Saudi government.
Those who performed Hajj through Bangladesh’s government arrangements also expressed satisfaction and advised others to opt for the official channel in the future, the press release said.
It went on to add that the Bangladesh Hajj Mission’s medical centres in Makkah and Madinah issued 58,049 automated prescriptions up until Saturday. Additionally, 398 pilgrims received treatment at local hospitals in Saudi Arabia.
So far this Hajj season, 48 Bangladeshi pilgrims have died. Currently, 22 pilgrims are undergoing treatment in various hospitals across Saudi Arabia.
