It was a night to remember for Olivia Dean at the Brit Awards, as the rising star scooped four awards, including the coveted Artist of the Year and Song of the Year.
Dean, a former Brit School pupil, also delivered a standout performance of her hit single ‘Man I Need’ during the ceremony. Earlier this year, she was named Best New Artist at the Grammys, further cementing her rapid ascent in the music industry.
This year, the UK’s premier music awards moved north from London to Manchester. The ceremony kicked off with Harry Styles making his first TV performance in nearly three years, debuting his new single ‘Aperture’ from the forthcoming album ‘Kiss All the Time, Disco Occasionally’, set for release next week.
International honours went to Rosalía, who took Best International Artist, while Bruno Mars and ‘ROSÉ’ were awarded Best International Song. The band Geese claimed Best International Group.
The evening also featured a poignant tribute to the late Ozzy Osbourne, led by Robbie Williams and accompanied by members of Black Sabbath in a special performance of ‘No More Tears’.
The Critics’ Choice Award, previously known as the Rising Star Award, was presented to Jacob Alon, following in the footsteps of previous winners such as Adele and Sam Fender.
Other memorable performances included Raye, SOMBRE and Mark Ronson, who was honoured with the Outstanding Contribution to Music Award for his influential career in production and performance.
