North South University (NSU) Pharmaceutical Club, alongside the Department of Pharmaceutical Sciences, hosted a two-day event titled Joya Sanitary Napkin presents Pharma Fest 2025, drawing students, researchers and industry leaders from across the country, according to a press release.
The event opened on Wednesday with an Industrial Advisory Board and Leaders’ Meetup, followed by an Alumni Night that brought together graduates and students for networking and insights.
Participants from universities across the country joined a debate, pharmaceutical olympiad, poster presentation and research stall exhibitions.
The main opening ceremony on Thursday began with a welcome address before NSU Department of Pharmaceutical Sciences Chairman Prof Mohammad Hossain Shariare spoke on the evolving role of pharmacy education and research.
NSU School of Health and Life Sciences Dean Prof Dipak Kumar Mitra and NSU Pro-Vice Chancellor In-Charge and Treasurer Prof Abdur Rob Khan highlighted the importance of structured academia–industry collaboration.
SMC Enterprise Managing Director Sayef Nasir spoke on corporate responsibility, innovation and women’s healthcare, linking industry support to national health outcomes.
Renata Chief Executive Officer and Managing Director Syed S Kaiser Kabir urged students to uphold ethics, innovation and entrepreneurship to drive Bangladesh’s pharmaceutical sector forward.
NSU Pharmaceutical Club Faculty Adviser Adit Muktadir Pavel delivered the vote of thanks before the official magazine and pharma exhibition were inaugurated.
The exhibition displayed student-led research, prototypes and product concepts, drawing strong interest from industry professionals.
The closing ceremony featured Prof Shariare, Prof Mitra and Prof Rob Khan, along with NSU Board of Trustees Chairman Aziz Al Kaiser Tito and Board of Trustees Member Benajir Ahmed.
Orion Pharma Managing Director Zareen Karim and Radiant Pharmaceuticals Chairman Md Nasser Shahrear Zahedee also spoke, with Zahedee attending as the chief guest.
NSU Vice-Chancellor Prof Abdul Hannan Chowdhury, who presided over the session, stressed deeper industry engagement, research investment and workforce readiness for future pharmacists.
The event concluded with a prize distribution ceremony and cultural segment.
University officials said Pharma Fest 2025 underscored NSU’s efforts to strengthen academic excellence, research and industry linkages while building future-ready pharmaceutical professionals.
