NRBC Bank PLC has emerged as the top deposit collector among fourth-generation banks, with total deposits exceeding Tk22,000 crore by the end of July 2026, according to the bank.
Total deposits across fourth-generation banks grew by nearly Tk10,400 crore during the first six months of 2026, reaching approximately Tk89,776 crore.
NRBC Bank’s deposits rose from Tk19,072 crore to Tk20,780 crore in a year ended on 30 June .
The bank operates 109 branches, over 400 sub-branches and 629 agent banking points across the country, alongside mobile banking services through its “Planet” app. Total disbursed loans stood at Tk15,107 crore by the end of June 2026, with an Advance-Deposit Ratio of 69.57 per cent.
NRBC Bank Managing Director Touhidul Alam Khan said the bank’s service network and digital technology have helped build customer trust, keeping it ahead of peer banks across deposit and financial metrics.
SBAC Bank ranked second among fourth-generation banks with deposits of Tk12,065 crore, followed by Modhumoti Bank securing Tk10,600 crore, Meghna Bank Tk10,500 crore, NRB Bank Tk10,414 crore, Community Bank Tk9,609 crore, Midland Bank Tk9,378 crore, Bengal Commercial Bank Tk2,900 crore and Citizens Bank securing Tk2,313 crore at the end of June.
SBAC Bank Managing Director Mainul Kabir said customer trust remains a bank’s greatest asset and deposit growth reflects that confidence.
Most fourth-generation banks maintained positive deposit growth in the first half of the year, though translating this into sustainable business success and retaining customer trust remain key challenges, the press release added.
