Home Affairs Adviser Jahangir Alam Chowdhury on Wednesday said there is no threat surrounding the upcoming national election, which will be held in a free, fair, credible, and festive manner.

“The administration has been instructed to ensure that no unwanted or unpleasant incidents occur during the election, and all concerned have been directed to act accordingly. If everyone works in coordination, there will be no problem,” he told reporters in Gazipur.

The adviser made the remarks while attending a views-exchange meeting with officials at the Bhawal Conference Room of the Gazipur Deputy Commissioner’s office.

However, if they commit crimes after being released on bail, they will not be allowed to do so.”

He also said that rumours spread by neighbouring countries have declined as domestic media now reports verified news.
