Chhatra Dal Joint Secretary General Abidur Rahman Khan has alleged that, in the last year and a half since the July Uprising, the National Citizen Party (NCP) and its members have been the most proactive in the extortionate racket.
The Chhatra Dal leader made the remark at a public rally held in Narail-2 constituency in light of the upcoming 13th national parliamentary elections on 12 February.
The rally was organised in Lohagara upazila on the afternoon of 8 February, initiated by the upazila BNP and its associate organisations. Abidur Rahman Khan, who had contested in the Ducsu elections as a VP candidate on behalf of Chhatra Dal, spoke as the special guest.
He said, “The NCP has been the most involved in extortion and corruption in the last year and a half. They are scared to play the field. They roam around the courts. They want to become the prime minister.”
The rally was organised in support of AZM Fariduzzaman Farhad as the BNP-nominated parliamentary candidate for Narail-2 constituency in the upcoming elections.
Presided over by Lohagara Upazila BNP President Md Hemayet Hossain, the rally was also attended by leaders and activists from the grassroots levels of various organisations, including Lohagara Upazila BNP, Jubo Dal, and Chhatra Dal.
