The interim government is unlikely to take any decision to resolve the ongoing dispute between BSc degree holders and diploma engineers during the remaining tenure, the Ministry of Education said on Thursday.
In a press release, the ministry said the disagreement primarily centres on who is entitled to use the title “engineer” before or after their names.
BSc degree holders have also objected to the designation of the sub-assistant engineer post exclusively for diploma engineers and questioned why BSc graduates are barred from applying for the position.
The ministry noted that misleading information on the issue has been circulating in various media outlets following a meeting of the advisory committee held on Wednesday.
It clarified that although the committee discussed the matter, no recommendations were finalised.
The press release further stated that there is no possibility of a decision being taken on the issue during the current government’s tenure, leaving no room for confusion.
