BNP-nominated candidate for the Narayanganj-5 constituency in the 13th national election, Model Group Managing Director Md Masuduzzaman Masud, has withdrawn from the race, citing personal and family security concerns.
Announcing the decision at a press conference at the Narayanganj Press Club on Tuesday, Masud said he would work in support of whoever the party nominates.
Masud said, “There has been no pressure, instructions or threats from the party. I have decided on my own to withdraw from the election race due to concerns over personal and family security. A toxic environment is also a factor. Ultimately, my family is my main concern.”
