Nepalese Ambassador to Bangladesh, Ghanashyam Bhandari, has emphasised the time-honoured friendship between Nepal and Bangladesh, rooted in shared history, culture, and mutual respect.
He said tourism could serve as a key driver in further enhancing bilateral relations and fostering stronger people-to-people connections.
The envoy made these remarks at a B2B networking event jointly organised by the Embassy of Nepal and the Nepal Tourism Board (NTB), in collaboration with the Nepal Association of Tour and Travel Agents (NATTA), on Thursday evening.
The programme was held alongside the 13th Bangladesh Travel and Tourism Fair (BTTF), which is taking place in Dhaka from 30 October to 1 November.
Bhandari urged tour operators and travel professionals from both countries to establish productive collaborations aimed at promoting cross-border tourism and deepening cultural understanding.
During the event, Sunil Sharma, head of Public Relations and Publicity at the NTB, delivered an insightful presentation highlighting Nepal’s wide range of tourism attractions from adventure and spiritual tourism to eco-friendly and cultural experiences.

The programme also featured traditional Nepali folk performances, adding a vibrant cultural touch. A raffle draw was organised, where guests won exclusive holiday packages sponsored by various Nepali travel and tour companies.
Following the formal session, participants engaged in B2B meetings and networking activities, exploring avenues for future cooperation in tourism promotion.
Representatives from Bangladeshi travel agencies, tour operators, airlines, hotels, and other hospitality stakeholders attended the event.
Nepal’s participation in the BTTF 2025 is led by a 16-member delegation headed by the NTB, comprising members of NATTA, as well as leading tour operators, travel agents, and hoteliers from Nepal.
