The National Citizen Party (NCP) has announced a series of protest marches and rallies across the country, including the capital, in response to the attack on its member secretary Akhter Hossen and other political figures by alleged Awami League activists in New York.
According to a press release issued by the party on Tuesday morning (September 23), the Dhaka North and South city units of NCP will jointly hold a protest rally and procession in front of the National Museum at Shahbagh.
The party has also urged its units at the district and upazila levels to organize similar demonstrations in their respective areas.
Meanwhile, the NCP Diaspora Alliance has strongly condemned the attack on Akhter Hossen and Senior Joint Member Secretary Dr Tasnim Jara, both of whom are accompanying Chief Adviser Dr Muhammad Yunus on his official trip to the United States.

Calling the incident disgraceful, the Alliance said, “This incident is not only an expression of political violence, but also a stark example of the failure of the state’s diplomatic dignity and security system.”
They further stated that the attack was not merely a political provocation but also an alarming reflection of diplomatic and security failures.
