NCC Bank PLC celebrated its 33rd anniversary on Sunday at its Dhaka head office, highlighting sustainable growth, customer trust, digital transformation, and a shift toward Shari’ah-based banking.
The event began with a cake-cutting ceremony led by Chairman Md. Nurun Newaz Selim. Managing Director Md. Shamsul Arefin presided over a discussion on the bank’s progress, ongoing transformation, and future plans.
Vice-Chairman Engineer Abdus Salam, Executive Committee Chairman Khairul Alam Chakladar, former Vice-Chairman Tanzina Ali, board members, independent directors, senior executives, and branch managers joined digitally.
Chairman Selim said the bank’s strong governance, customer trust, and resilient leadership have enabled it to navigate multiple economic challenges. He added that four full-fledged Islamic branches and 32 Islamic windows are already operational.
MD Arefin said NCC Bank has adopted a tech-driven structure emphasising deposit and loan growth, digital transformation, customer-centric services, and sustainable banking. He confirmed that, subject to regulatory approval, the bank will gradually transition to fully Shari’ah-compliant operations over the next four years.
AI-based personalised banking, Bangla QR payments, virtual cards, and online payment gateways are being expanded for anytime, anywhere service.
