Professor Dr Md Nazrul Islam has been appointed Pro-Vice Chancellor (Academic) of Bangladesh Medical University (BMU) for a four-year term.
The Ministry of Health and Family Welfare issued a notification on Tuesday confirming the appointment.
The ministry said the appointment was made with the approval of the President and Chancellor under Section 15(1) of the Bangladesh Medical University Act, 1998.
BMU Department of Radiology and Imaging Professor Md Nazrul Islam also serves as the university’s Registrar.
He will receive salary and allowances equivalent to his current position and will be entitled to other benefits as per rules.
The notification said the President and Chancellor may cancel the appointment at any time if necessary.
The order takes effect immediately.
