The special measles vaccination campaign will expand to Dhaka north and south city corporations as well as Mymensingh and Barishal districts starting on 12 April, said Health and Family Welfare Minister Sardar Sakhawat Husain.
He shared the details during the inauguration of the programme at Nawabganj Upazila Health Complex in Dhaka on Sunday.
He added that the vaccination, along with the Vitamin A programme, will be launched simultaneously across all remaining districts and upazilas from 3 May.
The campaign has already begun in 30 upazilas across 18 districts identified as high-risk for measles, he also said.
The expansion is part of the government’s effort to contain the outbreak and ensure nationwide coverage in the coming weeks.
