Minhajul Abedin Nannu has joined the BPL technical committee ahead of the start of the 12th season. The BCB confirmed his inclusion in a statement on Thursday night. The board believes the former captain and selector will strengthen the committee’s work.
Nannu replaces Habibul Bashar, who stepped down from the committee a day before the tournament begins. Bashar has returned to Chattogram Royals to take charge as team director.
The change follows a late development around the Chattogram franchise. The owners pulled out of the league at the last moment. They sent a formal letter to the BCB and asked the board to take over the team. The BCB has since assumed control of the franchise for the season.
Bashar had earlier been appointed as the team director of Chattogram. He later resigned from that role citing personal reasons and joined the BCB technical committee. After the ownership change, he is now back with the Chattogram team.
The new BPL season begins on Friday with the Sylhet leg. Two matches are scheduled on the opening day. Sylhet Titans will face Rajshahi Warriors at 3:00 pm. Noakhali Express will meet Chattogram Royals at 7:45 pm.
