Munna Bhaiya is back, and Divyenndu says his return to Mirzapur is filled with excitement, nerves and one big reason — the fans. The much-loved character will return in Mirzapur: The Movie, taking the franchise from streaming to the big screen.
According to NDTV, Divyenndu described the comeback as an emotional experience. Returning to Munna feels like life coming full circle, he said, as he wonders how audiences will react to seeing the character again and whether he has done justice to the role.
“For me, this one is just for the fans,” the actor said.
Divyenndu also hopes to make Munna feel relatable and human. He said he enjoys taking risks with his characters and trying something different. Audiences, he added, have supported him whenever he has experimented with his roles.
The actor said he has been fortunate to receive strong and significant parts throughout his career. He also credited the writers and filmmakers who trusted him with challenging characters.
Mirzapur: The Movie will hit cinemas on 4 September. Alongside Divyenndu, the film stars Ali Fazal, Shweta Tripathi, Pankaj Tripathi, Jitendra Kumar, Ravi Kishan, Rasika Dugal, Harshita Gaur, Shriya Pilgaonkar, Sheeba Chaddha and Rajesh Tailang.
