Bangladeshi fiction writer Muhammad Mohiuddin has been appointed as a member of the Advisory Board of the Writers for Peace Committee (WFPC) of PEN International, the global literary organisation.
PEN Bangladesh announced the news in a press release on Saturday, stating that Muhammad Mohiuddin, a writer and former general secretary of PEN Bangladesh, has been appointed to the position.
He previously served for three years on the Steering Committee of PEN International’s Writers in Prison Committee. He has also represented Bangladesh at several PEN International Congresses and committee conferences held in South Korea (2012), India (2018), Thailand (2019), the Philippines (2019), France (2020), Sweden (2022), Croatia (2023), and Poland (2025).
Mohiuddin has written 10 novels, two short story collections, and three edited volumes. He is also the editor and publisher of Gôlpôkar (The Storyteller), the only Bengali monthly magazine dedicated solely to short stories.
