Import and export activities resumed at Bhomra land port in Satkhira on Saturday after a six-day suspension marking Durga Puja.
Commercial operations returned to normal, bringing renewed activity among port users. However, the movement of passport-holding passengers remained uninterrupted throughout the closure.
Bhomra Clearing and Forwarding (C&F) Agents Association General Secretary Md Abu Musa confirmed the resumption of trade.
He said import and export activities remained suspended for six consecutive days from 17 to 22 October at the request of traders at India’s Ghojadanga land port.
Following the weekly holiday on Friday, commercial operations resumed on Saturday, he added.
Bhomra Immigration Checkpost Officer-in-Charge Sub-Inspector Sajib Bala said immigration services remained operational despite the suspension of trade.
As a result, passport-holding passengers from Bangladesh and India were able to cross the border without disruption during the period.
