A woman and her two children were found dead at their home in Khalishakandi village, Shahjahanpur Upazila of Bogura on Tuesday morning.
The deceased were identified as Sadia Begum, 28, and her children Saifa, 5, and Saif, 3. Sadia was married six years ago to Shahadat Hossain Kajol, an army personnel from the village.
According to neighbours, the children’s throat slit bodies were found in one room while Sadia was found hanging from the ceiling with a scarf in an adjacent area around 9.30am.
They immediately informed the police, who recovered the bodies and sent them to the Shaheed Ziaur Rahman Medical College Hospital morgue and took Sadia’s husband, Shahadat, into police custody for questioning.
Shahjahanpur Police Station Officer-in-Charge Md Shafiqul Islam said, “The army personnel has been taken into custody for questioning. We hope the investigation will reveal the exact circumstances of this tragic incident.”
