Australia won the toss and elected to bowl first against Bangladesh in the opening ODI at Mirpur’s Shere Bangla National Cricket Stadium on Tuesday. Bangladesh captain Mehidy Hasan Miraz lost his fifth consecutive toss.

Mosaddek Hossain returns to international cricket after four years. The all-rounder last played for Bangladesh in November 2022. Soumya Sarkar and Shoriful Islam both drop out of the XI that faced New Zealand in the last ODI. Tanvir Islam keeps his place alongside Mosaddek’s return.

Bangladesh line up with six batters, two spinners and three pacers for the series opener.

Australia field four pacers and one spinner. Liam Scott, an all-rounder, makes his international debut for Australia in this match.
