Bangladesh Police FC were left frustrated after failing to overcome Mohammedan SC in a Bangladesh Football League clash at the Shaheed Dhirendranath Dutta Stadium in Comilla, with the match ending 1–1. Despite taking an early lead, Police could not hold onto their advantage, missing several key chances in the second half.
Police opened the scoring in the 39th minute when Paulo Santos calmly converted a penalty after Odo Moses was fouled inside the box by Jahid Hasan Shanto. The lead was short-lived, however, as Mohammedan equalised in the 41st minute through Muzaffar Muzaffarov, who finished a well-timed strike following a pass from Jahid Shanto.
The first half saw both teams create chances, but a lack of finishing meant the score remained level. Police had an early opportunity in the fourth minute when Rabbi Hosen Rahul could not keep a close-range shot on target. Later, Odo Moses combined well on the left but could not find the net through Santos.
The second half failed to match the opening intensity. Mohammedan struggled to create clear-cut opportunities, while Police’s attacks were slow and predictable. The 79th minute offered Police their best chance of the half, but Santos headed over from close range. In the 88th minute, Sujon Hosen’s header was brilliantly saved by Mohammedan goalkeeper Sujon, keeping the score level.
During stoppage time, Police goalkeeper Rakibul Hasan produced two vital saves, first stopping a low strike from Boateng and later a header from Amirul. Despite dominating possession in phases, Police could not convert their chances and had to settle for a draw.
In another match on the day, Fakirerpool Youngmens Club defeated Rahmatganj Muslim Friends and Society 3–0, moving up to third place with 18 points. Fakirerpool remain eighth with 10 points.
The draw left the league table unchanged for Police and Mohammedan. Police remain sixth with 15 points, while Mohammedan stay one position above with 11 points from 11 games.
