Model, actress and presenter Tulona Al Harun has died after a prolonged battle with cancer. She was pronounced dead at BRB Hospital in Dhaka at 11:05pm on Friday, 23 October. Her younger brother, Ayaz, confirmed the news.
Tulona was diagnosed with cancer after developing a brain tumour. She underwent surgery and showed some improvement, but her condition deteriorated recently, prompting her admission to hospital. She suffered a heart attack while receiving treatment on Friday night.
Her death has cast a shadow over Bangladesh’s cultural and entertainment communities, with colleagues, leading fashion choreographers, designers and fans expressing grief on social media.
Her family said her funeral prayer would be held on Saturday, 24 October, on Road 3 in Mansurabad Pisciculture Housing, Mohammadpur, Dhaka. She would then be buried at the Rayerbazar Martyred Intellectuals Cemetery.
Throughout her career, Tulona established herself in modelling, acting and television presenting. She also earned recognition as a fashion choreographer and stylist.
Despite her personal health struggles, she maintained a lively social media presence and shared an optimistic outlook with her followers. Many have described her death as an irreparable loss for Bangladesh’s modelling and entertainment industries.
