Bangladesh star Mehidy Hasan Miraz has surged to a career-high second place in the ICC Test all-rounder rankings, mounting serious pressure on India’s Ravindra Jadeja, who currently holds the No.1 spot.
The 27-year-old’s outstanding performance in Bangladesh’s recent Test series win over Zimbabwe saw him score 116 runs and take 15 wickets across two matches. His all-round excellence has boosted his rating to a career-best 327 points—just 73 behind Jadeja, whose lead now looks increasingly vulnerable.
Miraz’s standout display came in the second Test in Chattogram, where he struck a crucial century batting at No.7 and followed it up with a match-winning five-wicket haul on the final day. His efforts not only guided Bangladesh to victory but also propelled him up the ICC rankings in multiple categories.
Alongside his rise in the all-rounder standings, Miraz has jumped eight places to 55th among Test batters and moved up two spots to 24th on the Test bowling list. His teammates also benefitted from the strong showing: left-arm spinner Taijul Islam climbed seven places to 16th among bowlers, while Nayeem Hasan rose six rungs to 54th.
