Education and Primary and Mass Education Minister ANM Ehsanul Hoque Milon has called for creative proposals and effective initiatives to make the country’s education system modern, simpler, and more effective.
He made these remarks during an exchange of views meeting held at the conference room of the Directorate of Madrasah Education on Sunday, according to a press release.
Milon stated that the Ministry of Education is not a conventional administrative ministry but a “nation-building” ministry that shapes the future of the country and builds the new generation.
Stressing the need to eliminate “red tape” and unnecessary complexities, he urged officials to review their respective work and submit development proposals to make courses and curriculum more timely and productive.
“This is your country, your child, your future. We must all take responsibility to build the Bangladesh of tomorrow,” said minister.
To implement the goals set for 2027, Milon directed that the formation of a new curriculum committee and the selection of its members be completed within this month. He emphasised the importance of starting the process by next week and called for swift, coordinated steps to prepare the syllabus within the scheduled timeframe.
Addressing those involved in madrasah and general education, the minister suggested reviewing education models, research papers, and PhD research from developed countries to adopt effective concepts. He noted that international experience and research-based knowledge would be integrated into the National Education Policy in stages.
Also present at the meeting, State Minister for Education and Primary and Mass Education Bobby Hajjaj called for specific and realistic solutions to address challenges in the education sector.
He requested the preparation of a structured “solution list” covering the responsibilities of the Madrasah Board and directorate, teacher-related issues, coordination with universities and other institutions, and administrative complexities. This list should be presented to the ministry to facilitate effective discussion and rapid decision-making.
The meeting was attended by Muhammad Rafiqul Islam, Secretary of the Technical and Madrasah Education Division, the Director General of the Directorate of Madrasah Education, and other relevant officials.
