Five more children died with measles-like symptoms in the past 24 hours, while 1,077 children were reported with measles or measles-like symptoms across the country, according to the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS).
The latest update was published by the DGHS on measles on Tuesday afternoon.
The health authorities said five children died with measles symptoms until 8am on Tuesday. However, no death was confirmed from measles infection during the period.
With the latest figures, the number of children who have died with measles symptoms since 15 March has risen to 844 nationwide. Another 99 children have died from confirmed measles infections, taking the total death toll from measles and measles-like symptoms to 943.
In the past 24 hours, 91 children tested positive for measles, while 986 children were reported to have measles-like symptoms. During the same period, 890 children were admitted to hospitals and an equal number were discharged.
According to DGHS data, the total number of suspected measles cases since 15 March has reached 151,638, while confirmed cases stand at 18,578.
Of the total patients, 132,554 have been admitted to hospitals, with 127,811 receiving treatment and returning home after recovery.
