Md Ruhul Amin has been appointed Managing Director of Bangladesh Water Development Board (BWDB), effective 5 July 2026.
Prior to the appointment, he was serving as Additional Director General (Planning, Design and Research) of the board.
He completed his BSc in Civil Engineering from Bangladesh University of Engineering and Technology (BUET) in 1991 and obtained an MBA in Business Administration from the University of Dhaka in 2012. He joined the Bangladesh Water Development Board as Assistant Engineer in 1993.
Over a career spanning more than 32 years, he has served in various key positions, including Sub-Divisional Engineer, Executive Engineer, Superintendent Engineer, Additional Chief Engineer and Chief Engineer, contributing to major technical and administrative functions of the organisation.
He has participated in several seminars and trainings in Japan, Vietnam and Australia, applying advanced technical knowledge in his work at the board. He is also a member of the Institution of Engineers, Bangladesh (IEB).
