Fisheries and Livestock Adviser Farida Akhter described the marine cadets as “brave warriors of the seas”, urging them to use their knowledge and skills to build a bright future and support the planned management of the country’s marine resources.
She made the remarks while addressing the 44th Passing Out Parade of the Marine Fisheries Academy as the chief guest.
Secretary of the Fisheries and Livestock Ministry Abu Taher Md Zaber attended the programme as the special guest, while Marine Fisheries Academy Principal Captain Mohammad Hasan presided over the event.
The adviser called on the graduating cadets to uphold honesty, discipline, perseverance, punctuality and patriotism as they prepare to serve the nation.
Expressing hope for their future, she said the cadets who successfully completed their professional course would use their talent to enhance the country’s reputation and achieve excellence in their careers.
She later distributed medals and certificates among the graduates.
A total of 110 cadets, including 17 women, passed out in the 44th batch of the Marine Fisheries Academy.
Senior officials from the Fisheries and Livestock Ministry, Bangladesh Navy, Coast Guard, Shipping Ministry, and the Directorates of Fisheries, Marine, Shipping and CPA were also present at the ceremony.
