Mahmudur Rahman Manna, the President of Nagorik Oikya, is in a better state of health than previously reported, according to a medical board.

A medical board was constituted on Friday at CCU-2 of the Cardiology Department at Bangladesh Medical University Hospital to conduct a health examination and overall evaluation of his physical state.

The medical board reported that Manna arrived at the hospital’s emergency department on Thursday night after experiencing chest pain. Following initial treatment at the emergency department, he was admitted to the Coronary Care Unit (CCU) and has remained under intensive observation since that time.

MA Mukit, Chairman of the Cardiology Department, provided an update on Saturday afternoon following the medical board’s observation, stating that Manna’s physical condition is stable and his overall status is good.

He further noted that although additional necessary tests will be conducted as part of the ongoing treatment, there is currently no major cause for alarm. If conditions remain favourable, it is possible he will be able to return home by Sunday.

The medical board comprises Md Abul Kalam Azad, Chairman of the Internal Medicine Department and Pro-Vice Chancellor (Administration); AH Hamid Ahmed, Chairman of the Nephrology Department; MA Mukit of the Cardiology Department; and Khorshed Ahmed, Md Abu Selim, and Lohani Md Tajul Islam, all from the Cardiology Department.
