A man was killed after a CNG-run autorickshaw hit his motorcycle in the capital’s Shonir Akhra area under Jatrabari on Sunday morning.

The deceased, Sajit Hasan, 28, was a Product Executive at Al-Madina Pharmaceuticals Limited in Farmgate. The incident took place around 9:30am while Sajit was riding to work.

Md Sohan, a college student who witnessed the incident, said the CNG hit the motorcycle from the side and fled the scene.

He rescued the critically injured Sajit and took him to a local hospital.

As his condition worsened, he was shifted to Dhaka Medical College Hospital (DMCH), where doctors declared him dead around 11:30am while undergoing treatment.

Citing the doctor, Inspector Md Faruk, in charge of the DMCH Police Camp confirmed the death.

He said the body has been kept in the hospital morgue, and the Jatrabari Police Station has been informed about the incident.
