West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee on Monday issued an urgent appeal to agents and supporters of TMC asking them to stay present at vote counting centres during the ongoing West Bengal Assembly Election.
In a message shared on X, the TMC supremo alleged irregularities in the counting process, claiming it had been halted in multiple locations, reports Hindustan Times.

“As I said yesterday, they would show BJP in the lead after 2-3 rounds… counting has been stopped at around 100 places,” she said in her message.
Her remarks came as trends released by the Election Commission of India (ECI) indicated that the BJP was leading in the election.
In a video message issued at the same time, Banerjee further alleged that officials involved in the counting process had stopped tallying votes in areas where TMC was ahead.
“There are around 100 seats in which TMC is ahead, but it is not being revealed,” she said.
She also accused the BJP and the central government of manipulating votes under the pretext of “SIR”, saying they had “looted votes in the name of SIR.”
