Arifin Shuvoo and Bidya Sinha Mim are set to return to the big screen together in the upcoming Eid-ul-Azha release ‘Malik’, directed by Saif Chandan, with the film’s first visuals and behind-the-scenes stills gradually revealing the long-awaited pairing.
The project, which had been kept largely under wraps during production, has only recently begun its formal promotional rollout. The team had opted not to hold a mahurat ceremony and completed shooting in secrecy, with the intention of unveiling the film only after post-production work was finished.
Shuvoo and Mim were last seen together in ‘Shapludu’, after which both actors pursued separate projects. Their reunion in ‘Malik’ has therefore drawn attention from audiences anticipating their on-screen chemistry after a significant break.
Recently released official posters from the film offered the first structured glimpse into the characters. Shuvoo himself shared a poster captioned “Eid Mubarak Malik!”, while Mim followed up with a set of 10 still images, captioning them as scenes from a romantic song sequence in the film. She did not disclose the shooting locations.
According to the production team, ‘Malik’ is an action-driven film in which both lead actors will appear in markedly different avatars. The director has stated that the roles required significant physical preparation, including strict dieting and fitness training undertaken by both stars.
Sources associated with the unit further indicate that Mim underwent approximately one and a half months of rehearsal ahead of filming. Her preparation reportedly included martial arts training, body language work and action choreography sessions, alongside acting practice.
Shuvoo also dedicated substantial time to preparation, maintaining a strong focus on his work following a period with fewer releases. His most recent film was ‘Neel Chakra’.
Alongside her work in ‘Malik’, Mim has also been active in brand photoshoots and has completed filming for another project titled’ Digonte Phuler Agun’, directed by Wahid Tareq and produced by Shomi Kaisar. In that film, she is set to portray the character of Panna Kaisar, wife of Shahidullah Kaiser.
‘Malik’ is directed by Saif Chandan, whose previous film was ‘Local’. This marks his seventh feature film and first time working with Shuvoo and Mim.
