Polish fashion retailer LPP has sourced garments worth more than $3.5 billion from Bangladesh over the past five years, strengthening its position as one of the largest buyers of Bangladeshi apparel.
The company’s annual sourcing from Bangladesh has exceeded $750 million, with its orders accounting for nearly 2% of the country’s total garment exports, according to a company statement.
Since 2024, LPP has consistently ranked as the eighth-largest buyer of Bangladeshi garments.
LPP has been present in Bangladesh since 2002 and significantly expanded its sourcing operations in 2020, increasing the value of its orders by more than 70% year-on-year. The company has maintained the higher sourcing volume since then.
The retailer currently works with more than 350 factories across Bangladesh, representing around 8% of the country’s export-oriented garment factories.
According to the Bangladesh Garment Manufacturers and Exporters Association (BGMEA), Bangladesh had approximately 4,000 operational export-oriented garment factories in 2026.
Through its sourcing activities, LPP supports employment for hundreds of thousands of workers in Bangladesh’s garment industry.
The company has also been involved in improving working conditions and safety standards at Bangladeshi factories since 2013. It has remained a member of the International Accord throughout this period, a global initiative focused on workplace safety in the garment and textile industry.
To date, LPP has invested more than $2.5 million in initiatives aimed at improving factory safety in Bangladesh.
