Md Tasrib Ahmed Mahin, a final-year student of the Department of IEM at Khulna University of Engineering and Technology (KUET), has gone missing from the campus.
Mahin (Roll No: 1011015), a student of the 2020 batch and a resident of Fazlul Haque Hall, has been missing since Sunday evening after he left the dormitory.
A General Diary (GD) has been lodged with the local police station in connection with the disappearance. KUET Director (Student Welfare) Prof Md Hasan Ali confirmed the matter on Monday, saying that classmates informed the university authorities after they were unable to locate him for an extended period.
University authorities, classmates, and relatives are currently conducting a thorough search to find him.
Prof Hasan further mentioned that the police are making their best efforts to track the student. Although Mahin’s mobile phone is currently switched off. Citing police information, Hasan noted that mobile tracking indicates his location has been changing repeatedly.
Upon receiving the news, the student’s father, Md Mokhlesur Rahman, arrived at the campus to join the search. He informed authorities that Mahin had been significantly distressed recently due to family reasons.
Meanwhile, a press release by the Public Relations, Information and Publication Division of KUET has sought information regarding the missing student. The mobile number used by the student is 01810-519239.
