Mymensingh Division found themselves forced to follow-on against Khulna Division after a challenging day in the National Cricket League, while Nasum Ahmed starred for Sylhet Division with a brilliant five-wicket haul.
Khulna resumed their first innings on the second day and added just a few runs before being bowled out for 288, with Yasin Arafat claiming the final wickets to finish with a five-wicket haul. Faced with a substantial target, Mymensingh suffered a collapse in their first innings. They lost five wickets with only 55 runs on the board and were eventually dismissed for 108. Mahfizul Islam top-scored with 26 runs, while Mosaddek Hossain retired hurt due to a leg strain after attempting a reverse sweep off Sheikh Parvez Jibon. Khulna bowlers Safar Ali, Mehedi Hasan Rana, and Sheikh Parvez Jibon shared the bowling honors by taking two wickets each, while Tanvir Hossain claimed one dismissal.
Khulna enforced the follow-on, sending Mymensingh back in to bat. However, losing two quick wickets before stumps left them under pressure at 57/2, with Mahfizul unbeaten on 25 alongside Munim Shahriar on zero.
In another fixture, Sylhet Division faced Chattogram Division. Chattogram resumed their first innings on 64/1 and reached 210 all out in response to Sylhet’s total of 218. Mahmudul Hasan Joy played a solid knock of 82 runs for Chattogram, supported by Yasir Ali with an unbeaten 41. Sylhet capitalized on their narrow lead by reaching 89/2 in their second innings by the end of the second day’s play, with Saikat Ali unbeaten on 36 and Amite Hasan on 4.
