Popular singer Fahmida Nabi has released her latest song, Kheyali Sur. The track recently premiered on the artist’s official YouTube channel, Fahmida Nabi. The lyrics were written by Amirul Islam Arun, while Fuad Naser Babu composed the music.
Speaking about the release, Fahmida Nabi said the music industry has become increasingly driven by views and viral trends. She believes the race for online popularity has overshadowed many other aspects of music.
“Everyone seems focused on the business of views. The effort to go viral is becoming increasingly obvious,” she said. “I believe this trend is temporary, but it is harming our culture. I have always preferred practising meaningful music rather than chasing viral success. Kheyali Sur is another step in that journey. I do not know how much attention the song will receive in today’s viral culture, but if listeners who truly understand music appreciate it, my effort will have been worthwhile.”
She added that genuine music lovers always seek out quality songs, regardless of trends.
“I believe people who truly love music always search for good songs. They are my real audience. I hope Kheyali Sur resonates with them,” she said.
Alongside her singing career, Fahmida Nabi has regularly composed music over the past several years, with a number of her self-composed songs already released. However, Kheyali Sur is not one of her own compositions.
Reflecting on that, the singer said performing her own compositions gives her a sense of personal fulfilment, but she is equally enthusiastic about singing songs created by others when they offer strong lyrics and melodies.
“I have composed many of the songs I have performed, and that gives me great satisfaction,” she said. “At the same time, we have many talented composers whose work any singer would be fortunate to perform. Fuad Naser Babu is one of them. Amirul Islam Arun has written beautiful lyrics, and Fuad Naser Babu has transformed them into a wonderful composition. I was deeply moved by the song.”
