Shahiduzzaman Selim, Chanchal Chowdhury and Intekhab Dinar are set to appear together on the big screen for the first time in the upcoming film Khalnayak.
All three actors built their careers through television and have extensive theatre experience. They later established themselves in cinema as well, but this marks their first collaboration in the same film.
The first schedule of Khalnayak has already been completed in Kolkata. Television and OTT filmmaker Vicky Zahed is directing the film, marking his debut as a feature filmmaker.
Zahed has maintained strict secrecy around the project from the beginning. He did not reveal details before shooting started and remained tight-lipped during production. He even avoided directly confirming that he was making a feature film.
Despite the secrecy, several people associated with the project have confirmed that the first schedule has been completed in Kolkata.
Afran Nisho and Toma Mirza play the two central characters in the film. The project marks their third film together, and both actors took part in the first schedule.
Several artistes involved in the production said they enjoyed working on the project.
Shahiduzzaman Selim said he plays a major stock market businessman. Intekhab Dinar also portrays a businessman in the same field, although Selim declined to reveal whether their characters are connected or provide further details about their roles.
This is Selim’s first collaboration with Vicky Zahed.
“Working with Vicky for the first time has been a good experience. I found him technically very capable. He is also extremely serious about presenting characters on screen. I believe this is going to be a great piece of work,” Selim said.
Chanchal Chowdhury is also part of the cast, although details about his character remain undisclosed.
The secrecy surrounding the story and characters has already created curiosity about the film. The makers have not yet announced its release date.
Vicky Zahed previously gained attention for web productions including Punorjonmo. Interestingly, Khalnayak is not a new title in Dhallywood. A film with the same title was released in 1996, directed by Montazur Rahman Akbar and starring Manna.
