BNP Media Cell member Shairul Kabir Khan has confirmed  the delay in the arrival of Qatar’s special air ambulance is causing the postponement of taking BNP Chairperson Khaleda Zia to London for further treatment.

Khan informed TIMES of Bangladesh that after Tarique Rahman’s wife, Zubaida Rahman, returns to the country, a medical board will convene to assess the BNP Chairperson’s latest health condition. Following that, a final decision will be made regarding her transfer to London.

Meanwhile, BNP Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir stated that due to technical issues, Qatar’s air ambulance will not reach Dhaka on Friday as planned.

However, if the situation improves, the ambulance may arrive on Saturday.

He added, “If Begum Zia’s health is deemed ‘suitable for travel’ and the medical board approves, Inshallah, she will depart for London on Sunday.”
