Actor Khairul Basar and Sadnima Binte Noman have emerged as a popular on-screen pair, with two of their recent dramas crossing one crore views and drawing growing interest from directors and producers.

Their journey as a pair began with ‘Goldfish’ a year ago, which introduced audiences to Sadnima as Faria. In one memorable scene, Faria watches with amusement from a window as Ayon, played by Basar, limps after his girlfriend and begs her not to end their relationship after injuring his foot while trying to stop her from leaving.

The two went on to work together in dramas such as ‘Boi Poka’, ‘Bhotbhoti’ and ‘Mondubi’. However, ‘Kacher Keu’, directed by Serniabat Shawon, became their first drama to cross one crore views. Their latest collaboration, ‘Tomar Thikanay’, directed by Shawon as well, reached the same milestone within just five days of release.

Basar credits the success to the strength of the stories rather than any secret formula. He said he had not expected audiences to respond so warmly to two consecutive projects.

“The stories and dialogues were very good, and we tried to perform them as effectively as possible. When two actors understand the characters, the dialogue and the situation, they can deliver their performances well and bring the story to life,” he said.

Basar also watches his own work from an audience’s perspective, often placing himself in viewers’ shoes after receiving a script. He said he felt connected to the journeys of both stories, which helped the pair convey them convincingly.

The response has already begun to shape their professional lives. Basar said directors had been contacting them to work together, and they had already committed to several projects. He has also noticed growing interest from audiences and producers.

Sadnima, however, wants to be selective despite the rising demand. She said the pair planned to continue working together but hoped to choose stories that offered something beyond familiar formulas.

“Whenever I go out, I can sense how much audiences expect from our dramas. They have welcomed our work so warmly, and their love inspires me,” she said.

Director Serniabat Shawon said he had usually worked with established stars before casting Basar and Sadnima together six months ago. He admitted feeling uncertain about the new pairing at first, but the first scene convinced him of Sadnima’s potential.

“She understands a character quickly, thinks deeply about her roles and is very dedicated. Both actors perform naturally, and that is what audiences have appreciated,” he said.

Shawon believes the growing demand may soon make it difficult to secure the pair’s schedules. Both ‘Kacher Keu’ and ‘Tomar Thikanay’ are available to watch on Hia Entertainment’s YouTube channel.
