The government has appointed Kazi Jesin as the Director General of Bangladesh Television (BTV) on a one-year contractual basis, according to a notification issued by the Ministry of Public Administration on Thursday.
The appointment was made under Section 11(2) of the Bangladesh Television Authority Act, 2001, the notification said.
Jesin has been appointed to the Grade-1 post for a one-year term effective from the date of joining.
As a condition of the appointment, he must resign from any profession, business or employment with any government, autonomous, semi-government or private organisation before assuming office.
The notification said the detailed terms and conditions of his appointment will be specified in a separate contract.
The order was issued with the approval of the President and has been made effective in the public interest, according to the notification.
