Kareena Kapoor Khan and Dhanush could soon share the screen in a Hindi film produced by Sanjay Leela Bhansali and directed by PS Mithran.
Speaking to Cinema Vikatan while promoting Sardar 2, Mithran confirmed that discussions are underway.
“Talks are underway, we are looking at the dates for confirmation. Hopefully, something good will come out of it,” he said.
The film is reportedly a large-scale mythological jungle adventure and is currently in development.
Pre-production is expected to begin in November 2026, with filming potentially starting in January 2027.
If confirmed, the project will mark Mithran’s Hindi directorial debut and the first pairing of Kareena and Dhanush.
It would also reunite Kareena with Bhansali after their fallout in the early 2000s.
Bhansali had approached Kareena for Devdas and conducted a screen test, but eventually cast Aishwarya Rai Bachchan as Paro.
Kareena later criticised the filmmaker, saying she felt hurt by the decision. Bhansali denied her claims and said the casting had never been finalised.
Meanwhile, Kareena will next appear in Daayra, directed by Meghna Gulzar and co-starring Prithviraj Sukumaran. The film is scheduled for release on 18 September.
