Popular singer Kanak Chapa has shared a detailed social media post reflecting on her political journey, describing long-standing sacrifices, setbacks and her continued loyalty to her party amid nomination challenges for reserved women’s seats.
In the post, Kanak Chapa said she entered politics in 2013, inspired by Khaleda Zia, and has since faced significant personal, financial and professional difficulties, including an inability to continue her singing career as before.
Kanak Chapa also claimed she worked extensively in her constituency with party approval ahead of the 13th national election but was ultimately not nominated, a decision she accepted despite disappointment.
While affirming full trust in party leadership and its selection process, she said she feels her sacrifices have gone unrecognised and expressed concern over what she described as attempts to misrepresent her contributions, reiterating her “100 percent loyalty” to the party.
