Liverpool have confirmed that Diogo Jota’s two sons will take part as mascots when the club faces Wolverhampton Wanderers in the Premier League on Saturday, 28 December 2025.
Portuguese forward Jota, who had played for both Liverpool and Wolves, tragically died in a car crash alongside his younger brother in July in northwestern Spain at the age of 28.
Jota joined Wolves on loan from Atletico Madrid in 2017 before making the move permanent the following year. In 2020, he signed a five-year deal with Liverpool, where he helped the club secure the Premier League title earlier this year.
Saturday’s fixture will be the first meeting between Liverpool and Wolves since Jota’s passing. His wife, Rute Cardoso, along with their sons Dinis and Duarte, had attended the Premier League home openers for both clubs in August.
