Bangladesh HP swept Malaysia 2-0 in the T20I series, with opener Jishan Alam producing a stunning display with the bat in the final match. The right-hander reached his fifty in just 19 balls and credited team mentor Mahmudullah Riyad for his guidance after the game.
The series marked the beginning of Mahmudullah’s career as a mentor. The former Bangladesh captain made an impressive start to his new role, earning praise from his players in his first assignment.
Jishan, who finished with a blistering 57 off 21 balls, said after the match: “Riyad bhai is responsible for our batting. He is always helping us. He works according to what each batter needs. Sohel sir (head coach), Riyad bhai and all the other coaches are doing a very good job.”
Asked whether he had worked specifically with Mahmudullah on his batting, Jishan said: “Yes, I have been working with Riyad bhai on my batting. I was able to execute some of that in today’s match. Inshallah, I hope I can do even better in the matches ahead.”
