Jamuna Bank PLC has signed two participation agreements with Bangladesh Bank under the Financial Sector Fund for the Development of Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (FSFDSMEs) and the Cluster Financing Scheme, said a press release. The agreements were signed at the Jahangir Alam Conference Hall of Bangladesh Bank headquarters on Monday, enabling Cottage, Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (CMSMEs) across the country to access financing at affordable profit rates of up to 7 per cent under simplified terms.
The ceremony was attended by Bangladesh Bank Deputy Governor Nurun Nahar and Director of the SME and Special Programs Department Naushad Mostafa, along with senior Bangladesh Bank officials, said the release. Representing Jamuna Bank PLC were Deputy Managing Director and Chief Business Officer Noor Mohammed and Head of SME Business NHM Nusrat. The agreements allow Jamuna Bank to channel Bangladesh Bank’s low-cost refinancing facilities to small and medium entrepreneurs nationwide, supporting industrialisation, employment generation and inclusive economic growth, said the release.
