Jamal Hossain won the inaugural Chief of Army Staff (CAS) Cup Professional Golf Tournament 2026 at Jolshiri Golf Club in Rupganj on Friday, closing with a seven-under-par 65 to finish on 198 across 54 holes, 18 under par. He won by eight strokes.
Jamal carded rounds of 67, 66, and 65 over the three days. He led from the end of round two and never let the gap close, extending his advantage with the lowest round of the week on the final day.
Badal Hossain finished second on 206, ten under par, after rounds of 66, 70, and 70. He led the tournament after round one but could not match Jamal’s pace across the remaining two days.
Md Razu took third on 210, six under par, one stroke ahead of Md Sagor in fourth on 211. Md Solayeman and Md Dulal Hossain tied for fifth on 212, four under par, both closing with steady final rounds.
Akbar Hossain and Mohammad Siddikur Rahman tied for seventh on 213, three under par. Siddikur’s tournament never matched his reputation across the three rounds, and a tie for seventh was the best he could manage from a position well off the pace after qualifying. Jakir Uzzaman and Md Shahjamal slipped to 214 after closing rounds of 74. Md Rasel rounded out the top eleven on 215.
Jamal collects the winner’s share of Tk 350,000 from the total prize fund of Tk 30 lacs, with the remaining 39 paid positions distributed according to the tournament’s published payout structure.
Heading into the final round, Jamal had said he expected to handle the occasion without difficulty. “Since I have played so many tournaments, I hope I will not feel any pressure. I hope I can give my best,” he had said on the eve of the final, a confidence that proved well founded as he produced the best round of the week when it mattered most.
He had also praised the organisers ahead of Friday’s round, thanking Chief of Army Staff General Waker-Uz-Zaman and BPGA President Major General Mashud Razzaq (retd.) for staging the event, and suggesting regular tournaments of this scale would push Bangladesh golf forward.
Jamal Hossain, who also won the Army Golf Club Professional Golf Tournament in May 2025, now adds the first CAS Cup title to his record.
