Jamal Hossain fired a six-under-par 66 in round two of the inaugural Chief of Army Staff (CAS) Cup Professional Golf Tournament 2026 at Jolshiri Golf Club in Rupganj on Thursday, moving to 133 (-11) and three strokes clear of overnight leader Badal Hossain heading into Friday’s final round.
Badal, who led after round one with a 66, carded a 70 in the second qualifying round to sit on 136 (-8). Jamal’s response was decisive: he entered Thursday one stroke behind and leaves it three ahead.
Three players share third on 140 (-4): Md Sagor (70+70), Jakir Uzzaman (69+71), and Md Shahjamal (69+71). They sit seven strokes behind Jamal with one round remaining.
While Jamal climbed, Mohammad Siddikur Rahman moved in the opposite direction. Bangladesh’s most decorated golfer internationally sits tenth after rounds of 70 and 72, a two-over second round leaving him on 142 (-2) and ten shots off the lead. A player of his standing expects to contend at a domestic event of this nature, but his scoring across two days has not matched that expectation.
Dil Mohammad, Md Nazim Hossain, and Mohammad Sayum played in the afternoon shift and had not posted round two scores at the time of writing.
40 players will advance from the two qualifying rounds to Friday’s final, where the Tk 30 lacs prize fund is decided. The winner takes Tk 350,000.
Jamal Hossain won the Army Golf Club Professional Golf Tournament in May 2025 and enters the final round as the clear favourite. Badal Hossain remains within range, but Jamal has seized control.
