Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami has officially notified the Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) of its plan to hold a national rally at Suhrawardy Udyan in the capital on July 19.
A delegation from the party visited the DMP Commissioner’s office on Thursday morning to inform authorities about the event, scheduled to begin at 2pm.
Speaking to the media after the meeting, Jamaat’s Assistant Secretary General and Head of Media and Publicity Department, Advocate Ahsanul Mahboob Zubair, said, “We are planning to hold a national rally at Suhrawardy Udyan on July 19 at 2pm.
